In terms of markets passed, Baron's Well has been around the longest. It's land has seen adventures come and go, and the rise and fall of factions. The land itself emanates raw mana from the ground, which draws all forms of magic users and researchers alike.
Baron's Well was founded and established by the first Baron of the area, whose name is long forgotten. Legend has it that one day the Baron disappeared leaving his family to care for the land.
After time has passed and due to unforeseen events the lineage of the first baron became skewed to the point where historical documents were considered inaccurate, and during the time of the Tower the last of the lineage was killed and his soul was ripped from his body.
The two oldest houses in the land, that of the Dwarven Clan Ironhammer and The Holvadi family Gwenore, began warring over rightful rulership of the land. Both families claim lineage to the first baron and both families have some sort of connection to royal blood.
Baron Ironhammer – A dwarf, who is the current leader of Baron’s Well
Lady Elaine Gwenore - Leader of the holvadi family
Shar – A grimalkin alchemist of relatively unknown origin
Tavern Masters – Kitai & Malik of the Dragon's Eye
Baroness Rosalind – Former leader of Baron’s Well who left once the tower collapsed.
Undead - There have been varying types of undead seen at Baron's Well, from the skeleton to death knights. There is no shortage of the dead to be found in this region. Originally controlled by the Tower, but with it's fall most have become feral.
Crystal Beetles - Beetles that have taken on magic properties from the land. The beetles have crystalline like bodies that resemble the crystals they have grown and eaten, because of this most of them have some innate magical abilities.
Creatures of the Darkness
Shadow Imps & Stalkers - With the darkness came creatures from the deep. Creature that lived under the earth and mountains have began to emerge from the depths, bringing with them abilities that effect the mind.
Mana Pillar - A band of local shamans created the totem so that it draws the mana to a safe location for casters to harvest from.
Mage's Guild - A group of organized mages that share information and resources, this guild is open to the public to join.
Holvadi Mines - A mine that the holvadi stronghold is built into, the mine is currently occupied by the Kingdom and the holvadi family and not open to the public. The mine is known for it's abundance of ritual crystals that have been mined from within.
Dwarven Mines - A mine that the dwarven clan controls, the mine is off limits to any outsiders of the Ironhammer Clan. Unlike the holvadi mine, the dwarven mines contain various amounts of metals.
Gnome Market - A market that is owned and operated by a group of gnomes, who for the most part remain anonymous. They buy and sell most anything here.
The Lake - The lake is known to be extremely dangerous place to dive into, a race of unknown humanoids that live in the lake are extremely hostile. In recent times a siren has been seen emerged from the lake.
Since the markets began in Baron's Well, the Tower has been present. A beacon of death and destruction that's shadow loomed across the land. The Tower resurrected the dead and stole the souls of it's enemies to feed them.
The creation of The Tower happened with three brothers found ancient artifacts belonging to beings of power, known as Avatars. These objects gave them power and super natural abilities, to which they used to rival the Kingdom. Liches, death knights and undead roamed free. That was until the adventurers stepped in.
Three adventurers took the first step to infiltrating the tower. A gargoyle named Fissure, a death touched vampire named Kaz and a holvdai named Kyn, managed to gain access to the Tower and began to learn it's secrets.
Meanwhile the other adventurers attempted to resurrect the original Baron in hopes to have a chance against the tower. Finding the bones of the Baron they resurrected him, for them only to discover that the bones belonged to his wife, Rosalind .
In time the resurrected Baroness Rosalind along with the help of the adventurers who were lead by four individuals. The holvadi brothers: Oni & Ibsen and the vincuuls Ena and Rell. The adventurers began to fight back against the tower and in time bring the battle to their doorstep. This forced out the leader of the Tower, who was in disguise as leader of the Mage's Guild, Resden.
In a clash the Kingdom Military led by Prince Owain Pendragon battled Resden and his undead army, while in the meantime the adventurers infiltrated the Tower looking for Resden, only to discover one of his brothers. They adventurers killed Resden's brother and seized control of the tower.
In a last ditch effort to Resden attempted to perform a ritual using the entire land of Baron's Well as it's circle, creating anchor points and a barrier to protect himself. The adventurers destroyed the anchor points and confronted Resden and his remaining undead forces. When the dust settled it was the adventurers and Resden as the only remaining standing.
Resden says "I'm out of tricks, I'm finished, do with me as you like."
Ibsen turns and says "I have one question, why?"
Resden chuckles and says "I am but a vessel for the Avatar of Chaos, I rolled the dice and Baron's Well is where I landed, it's nothing personal."
After such Ibsen took the life of Resden. But much to his surprise, the body did not stay there but it disappeared as an adventurers body does when they die, leaving them to wonder how his encounter with Death would go. Since that day Resden has not been seen.
Since the fall of the Tower, a year passed with no incident, but then a darkness descended over the the land, that seemingly came from the mountains to the north. Kingdom researchers have determined that the darkness comes from far beyond that of the Dwarven Stronghold, from an unknown region in the mountain.
